JURA GIGA X8 and X8c review: two grinders, 200 cups

JURA GIGA X8 and X8c review: two grinders, 200 cups

The JURA GIGA X8 is the JURA with two grinders and two complete coffee systems, rated for up to 200 cups a day: a house blend and a decaf, or two different coffees, always ready side by side. It is the machine we point to when a large team wants choice as well as volume.

There are two versions. The JURA GIGA X8 runs from a 5 liter tank. The JURA GIGA X8c is permanently connected to the water supply through a 3/4 inch thread. Everything that happens in the cup is the same.

Our verdict

  • Best at: a large office floor, a hotel breakfast room or a conference venue where people want two coffees and the queue must keep moving.
  • Right size for: a team of about 60 people. JURA recommends the GIGA X line for up to 200 cups a day.
  • Pick something else if: one coffee is enough (the GIGA X3 is the simpler GIGA), or you want cold brew and two beans for a smaller group (the GIGA W10).
  • Plan for: a tap with a 3/4 inch thread for the X8c, a socket that takes 2700 W, and someone who empties the grounds container several times a day.

GIGA X8 or X8c: the one choice to make

At up to 200 cups a day, a 5 liter tank needs filling several times a day. If there is a tap within reach, the GIGA X8c removes that chore entirely; check that the tap has a 3/4 inch thread, larger than the 3/8 inch used on the X line. The X8c is also 5 cm narrower: 32 cm wide against 37 cm for the X8, both 56.5 cm high and 49.7 cm deep.

The GIGA X8 makes sense where no tap is available, in a room that is rearranged for events, or where the machine may move. For a fixed spot in a busy building, we would choose the X8c.

Two grinders: what you can do with them

Each of the two electronically adjustable ceramic disc grinders has its own 650 g bean container. The most common setup is our Houseblend in one and our Colombia Sugar Cane Specialty Decaf, with a full body and low acidity, in the other, so nobody has to settle for the regular coffee late in the afternoon. Another is Houseblend next to our Seasonal Blend, fruitier and livelier, for colleagues who want more of an espresso-bar feel. On the X8c, JURA adds Automatic Grinder Adjustment (A.G.A.), an electronically controlled readjustment system.

When we install a GIGA X8 or X8c, we set both grinders with our coffees on site, starting with the 2 × 1 kg of Houseblend that comes with the machine, a full-bodied espresso blend with low acidity and notes of dark chocolate and cacao nibs. If you want a decaf or a second coffee in the other container, tell us in advance so we can set up both grinders during the installation.

A powder chute for ground coffee remains available for a single cup of something else.

What it makes, and how fast

Behind the two grinders sit two high-performance 15 bar pumps, two thermoblocks and two fluid systems. That double setup is what the GIGA X line is built on, and what keeps it going at 200 cups a day. Short coffees use the Pulse Extraction Process (P.E.P.); there is a lungo function for long ones.

The fine-tuning is wider than on the X line: coffee strength and milk temperature each in ten levels, brewing and hot water temperature in three, and the brewing unit takes 5 to 16 g per cup. On the 4.3 inch touchscreen, with a rotary switch, you can position, duplicate and personalize drinks, so the menu shows what your team actually drinks.

Milk

The HP3 milk system with an interchangeable CX2 milk spout switches automatically between milk and milk foam. The dual spout adjusts from 70 to 159 mm and the hot-water spout from 69 to 165 mm. Milk comes from a carton or a cooler next to the machine; JURA lists the Cool Control 1.0 l and 2.5 l as accessories. The milk system cleaning is automatic at one touch, and the dual spout comes apart for a thorough clean.

Living with it

At GIGA volume, the routine is about rhythm:

  • Empty the grounds container, about 40 servings, while the machine is switched on. At 200 cups a day, that is five times or more.
  • Empty the drip tray: it is monitored, comes out with one hand and is dishwasher-proof.
  • Fill the 5 liter tank (GIGA X8 only), several times on a full day.
  • Run the milk system cleaning after the last milk drink.

Rinsing, cleaning and descaling programs are built in, and JURA's hygiene is TÜV-certified. The CLARIS Pro Smart+ filter cartridge, cleaning tablets, milk system cleaner and a microfiber cloth are in the box. For the X8c, JURA states an energy use of 0.491 kWh per day under DIN 18873-2.

Payment and connectivity

JURA supplies the Smart Connect transmitter as standard. For cashless payment and remote monitoring, it lists Wi-Fi Connect, Payment Connect, Pocket Pilot 2.0 and the Data Communicator, which are optional accessories. If you want staff or visitors to pay, or the facility team to see consumption per drink, tell us and we include the right option in the quote.

How many people is it for?

JURA recommends the GIGA X line for up to 200 cups a day. At about 3.3 cups per person per working day, that is a team of around 60 people. The double system helps at peaks, but one machine still serves one person at a time. For a building where 100 people come down at the same moment, two machines on two floors work better than one at the limit of its rating.

Our comparison of the JURA W, X and GIGA series puts all lines side by side, and every model is in our JURA professional range.

Buying a GIGA X8 through OR Coffee

OR Coffee is listed by Bodart, the Belgian JURA importer, as an approved dealer for JURA professional machines. You can taste and try the GIGA X8 before you decide: at our roastery in Wetteren, or at your place. Once you order, we deliver and install the GIGA X8 or X8c, set it up with the 2 × 1 kg of Houseblend that comes with it, and do a tasting of our coffees with your team on site.

You can buy the machine outright, lease or rent it per month, or ask for a fixed price per cup that covers machine and coffee. At this volume the coffee is a large part of the total, so we work out the formula in the quote.

Frequently asked questions

Can we run a decaf next to the house coffee?

Yes. Each grinder has its own 650 g bean container, so both coffees are always available. We suggest our Colombia Sugar Cane Specialty Decaf next to the Houseblend.

How many people is the GIGA X8 for?

About 60. JURA recommends the GIGA X line for up to 200 cups a day, at about 3.3 cups per person per working day.

What do we need on site for the X8c?

A water tap with a 3/4 inch thread within reach, a socket that takes 2700 W, and room to empty the grounds container and drip tray. Tell us what is there and we check the setup with you.

Can visitors or staff pay for a coffee?

The machine is ready for it with Payment Connect and Pocket Pilot 2.0, JURA's web-based system for cashless payment and machine management. Both are optional accessories; we include the right one in the quote.

Can we try it before we buy?

Yes. We set up a tasting and demo at our roastery in Wetteren, or we come to you.

Want a quote or a demo? Request one on the JURA GIGA X8 page or the JURA GIGA X8c page. Tell us how many people drink coffee, which second coffee you have in mind and whether there is a tap nearby, and we come back with the version and formula that fit. A tasting before you decide is possible at our roastery in Wetteren or at your place; delivery, installation and a tasting with your team come with the machine.

How we wrote this review

Every number in this article comes from JURA's official European product pages for the GIGA X8 Aluminium Black (EB, article 15566) and the GIGA X8c Aluminium Black (EB, article 15570), and from JURA's workplace guide for the daily output, checked on 22 October 2026. The demo, installation, setup and tasting describe how OR Coffee sells and delivers these machines. Our own measurements (cup temperature, noise, time per cup) will follow; we will add them here and mark them as ours. For daily and weekly care, see our JURA professional cleaning guide.
